Perseus - Meat, meat and did I mention Meat?
well, if you are like my dad and I and love your meat, this is your place. My father will travel a few thousand miles to eat steak at this place. He's right. They meat is perfectly cooked, charred on the outside, beautiful cuts and only the best quality. [Read more]

Sasso di Dante - Being right next to the Duomo, you would think it wouldnt be as good as it is
Sasso is a great place for lunch. I would have not chosen to go here if it weren't for a Roman friend of mine who raved about it. The food is very good Tuscan with lots of choice on the menu. Its well priced, good portions, fresh pasta and meat and well flavored. It doesn't have any snobbery, just some good casual eats. [Read more]

Haveli - Excellent quality in Florence!
Haveli is excellent indian food. Th quality and freshness of the ingredients are evident here in the authentic Indian cooking. The restaurant is very simple, no fuss and no frills, but lovely people running it and great food. Service a bit slow so be in for a long evening here, but lovely nonetheless. [Read more]

Trattoria Quattro Leoni - Good food but overpriced; service can be rude.
The food is good but is overshadowed by the service. I find the hosts to be somewhat rude generally and have heard from friends the same. I think if the service were warmer, the food would be better. They miss love in their food. [Read more]

Osteria del Caffe' Italiano - excellent quality food a( bit expensive) and great pizza
After passing this restaurant for over 2 years and never going in, finally went in. I had had the pizza many times but didn't eat in the restaurant. Pleasantly surprising. The pizza is always good here and now I also think that the food in the restaurant is very very good [Read more]

Kome - Rubbery Sushi. Go elsewhere
Being a bit of a sushi snob out of New york, I was eager to try what looked like a nice place for sushi. The place is beautifully designed, but I found the sushi to be rubbery, very expensive for poor quality sushi that was not worth it. [Read more]

Ruth's - Wonderful Israeli-Jewish cooking
This place reminds me of the Lower East Side joints at home in New York. You have a mamma and a papa in the kitchen, cooking up the old traditional recipes from the old country. Has a Czech influence as well. Fresh, excellent food. [Read more]

Acqua al Due - Not so great
Aqua al due I find to be more hype than actual quality. The service is spotty, the food sometimes good, sometimes bad. They rush you out as soon as possible to fill more tables. I have given this place many chances being I live close by. When you have other much higher quality elsewhere, I'd skip it. [Read more]

Il Pizzaiuolo - Packed always, decent pizza.
Pizzauolo is decent pizza in Florence. I have my favorites but don't consider PIzzauolo one of them. However if you don't feel like travelling or the other places are booked, you'll eat a good, decent pizza or meal for a decent price. [Read more]
